In the Space of an Atom is the only book I've ever written during the National Novel Writing Month, known by the unwieldy acronym, NaNoWriMo. NaNoWriMo is the challenge to write a first draft of a novel of at least 50,000 words during November. Why, you may ask, have I taken on this challenge only once? Well, where I've lived (Missouri and now, Colorado), November is one of the most beautiful months of the year. While I love writing, I love enjoying nature even more.
